Glycerin

Next to water (Aqua), Glycerin is a frequently used ingredient in skincare. Glycerin is a humectant (a substance used to reduce the loss of moisture) and can be derived from natural substances, although nowadays it is often synthetically manufactured. Studies show Glycerin can be really great for the skin for example it has the ability to hydrate the outer layers of the skin. Additionally, it is a great protector against skin irritants, it improves the skin barrier function and it is able to accelerate the skin-healing process. No wonder we use Glycerin in many of our formulations!
